Brazil International Week
Bringing the WORLD to TAU!
TAU International and the Student Union of Tel Aviv University have crafted five country's worth of party-weeks to enchant you throughout the year. Get ready for a trip of a lifetime, brought to our doorsteps of the University!
This time we're "flying" to the land of football, feijoada, and funk! It's February, but that doesn't mean you can't dust off your flip flops. Brazil is the perfect next stop in our International Week journey, as the country is home to over 300 ethnic groups, giving way to a seriously diverse culture.
The festivities will run between February 20th and February 24th all over campus, adding some one-of-a-kind Brazilian energy to the University.

16:15 - International to Local Perspectives on Brazil's Climate Change and Sustainability StanceLocation: Porter School of Environmental Studies Building Auditorium
Over 60% of Brazil is rainforest land. Nature and humanity's use of it takes up a huge portion of Brazil's worries. In this panel discussion, researchers from across faculties will discuss environmental challenges in Brazil. Panelist overview: Prof. Colin Price, Prof. Marcelo Sternberg, Dr. Orli Ronen
18:00 - Screening Central Station: A Journey to the Heart of BrazilLocation: The Raya and Josef Jaglom Auditorium, inside of the Senate Building
A screening of Central do Brasil (1998) will be followed by an in-depth discussion. At this cinematic event, Dr. Pablo Utin (The Steve Tisch School of Film and Television) and Dr. Ori Preuss (Senior Lecturer of Latin American History, Department of History), and Andre Chusyd (TAUi Alum and LATAM Outreach Coordinator) will discuss a breadth of topics related to Brazil, including nationalism.

For all those obsessed with entrepreneurship and innovation: Join this panel hosted by Jackie Goren, Head of the Global Sofaer MBA, Brazilian GMBA students, entrepeneurs and international innovators, and Israeli policy makers. Event will take place on Zoom, link will be sent to registrants.

Explore TAU's Botanical Garden and native Brazilian flora on campus, in Tel Aviv. First 20 registrants will be free of charge, with spots reserved to Israeli and international students (first come, first serve). The second group of visitors will cost 25 shekels per person.

Brazil is on the other side of the world, but that doesn't mean the Brazilian way of life is far from ours. 10 Israeli students engage with 10 Brazilian students in meaningful conversation about life, love, and their home countries.
